Schimpfen ist eine irrationale Handlung. Vielleicht ist es ein Akt des Protests; ein ohnmächtiges Ansprechen gegen die Sinnlosigkeit all der Dinge, die Schieflaufen.

Seit einiger Zeit nehme ich Leute – Bekannte, Freunde – beim schimpfen auf. Dabei spielt es keine Rolle, worüber sie schimpfen oder in welcher Sprache. Mich interessiert der Ausdruck, die Haltung der Personen. Alle Hinweise, worüber die Person schimpft, wer gemeint sein könnte oder warum die Person grade schlechte Laune hat, werden hinterher rausgeschnitten, ebenso wie alle Pausen, so dass eine Schimpftirade bleibt, die anschließend, je nach Stimme, in Räume gesetzt, verzerrt oder andersartig leicht bearbeitet, verstärkt wird. Dieser Zuspielung wird eine zweite Stimme hinzugestellt – in diesem Fall das Akkordeon – als Gegenüber oder als Parallele. Annährungen oder kurze Übereinstimmungen sind denkbar aber selten. Meist bleibt jedes Medium bei sich, kommentiert sich allein über die Gleichzeitigkeit auf der Bühne.

To moan is an irrational act.
Maybe it is an act of protest, a helpless scream against the meaninglessness of things that go wrong. Last year I was recording people – friends, acquaintances – while they where shouting and moaning. I did not pay attention on what they where shouting of about whom. I was only interested in the expression, the attitude. All hints about the background of the shouts where cut out afterwards as well as all breaks so all that was left is a tirade of shouts, of terms of abuse. In the editing process I was also playing with reverb coming and going, distortion or speed (only one thing per piece). This playback then gets a second voice – a live part on stage – in this case an accordion as a counterpart or sometimes as a parallel. Convergences or accordance’s are seldom, most of the time both medium stay with themselves and comment each other through the simultaneously at the same time on the same stage.
