Die Sehnsucht nach einem vorgelebten Sein - einem Angebot an Lebensentwürfen (life style)- ist Bedingung und Produkt des liberalen Markts und letztlich der Motor für unseren Kaufwillen.
Bedürfnisse werden nicht befriedigt – der Lebensentwurf darf nie erreicht werden - sondern auf Substitute – Accessoires des Entwurfs - umgelenkt und so ins Unendliche verlängert.
Dabei gehört zur Strategie, dass der begehrte Lebensentwurf außerhalb von Arbeit liegt, bzw. ein Erarbeiten diesem sogar entgegengesetzt ist. Man IST sexy, weil man nichts dafür tun muss; genetischer Code, angeborenes Talent. Die zugrunde liegende Bewegung ist Akkumulation.
Genau das ist die Thematik des Klavierstücks „Die Anderen – Jetzt Neu!“: Akkumulation von Tempi, Lautstärken (nicht immer lauter, immer mehr verschiedene Lautstärken), Tonhöhen, Tonmengen, das Pedal und der Ebow als Hilfsmittel zur Verlängerung des Ausschwingvorgangs. Das Streben nach dem Anderen, nicht als ein Sich–dahin-bewegen sondern als Wunsch so zu sein, augenblicklich, das Andere besitzen zu wollen.
Der Prozess der Akkumulation ist ein Automatismus, dessen Beobachtung keine Reflexion mehr benötigt. Gleichzeitig steuert der Prozeß auf einen statischen Zustand hin, es werden also immer neue Akkumulationsformen und Vernichtung der alten benötigt, um nicht im weißen Rauschen zu enden, im Wärmetod.
Am Ende des Stücks führen die Akkumulationsprozesse zur Passivität des Pianisten: Er lässt die Klaviersaiten durch das (selbst erzeugte?) Rauschen von der CD resonieren, anstatt sie selbst anzuschlagen und zum Schwingen zu bringen.

The Others ; New and Improved!
The longing for an idealized, constructed image of life - an offer for a simplified life plan - is the condition and product of a liberal market and is ultimately the motor for our consumer drive. Desires will never be satisfied - the ideal life will never be reached - it can only be made to seem real through substitution - through the accessories of the lifestyle - transferred again and again onto materialistic 'necessities' and thereby infintely protracted. Belonging to this market strategy is the concept that the ideal life can not be acheived through hard work, and additionally, that to work hard for it, or to need to work hard for it, is directly in opposition to it's very nature. One IS sexy because one must not work to be so; it is in the genetic coding, it is the inborn talent.
The underlying motion is one of accumulation.
This is exactly the theme of the piano piece, "The Others - new and improved!" The accumulation of tempi, dynamic (not continually a louder dynamic, but a continually increasing number of different dynamics), pitch, density, the pedal usage and the E-bow all act as a means of extending the decay process. The yearning for the ,Others' not as a moving towards something, but as wish to be that thing, in an instant, to own the ,Other'.
The process of accumulation is an automatism whose monitoring has no need for reflection. The process is simultaneously steered toward a static state; there are always new forms of accumulation and there is always the need for the destrcution of the old forms in order to avoid a state of white noise, of luke-warm death (standstill).
At the end of the piece the accumulation processes drive the pianist to a certain passivity. The piano strings resonate from the (self-produced?) noise of the CD, instead of being brought into vibration by being struck themselves.
